A Scots flight to America has declared a mid-air emergency this afternoon.
The Delta Air Traces flight was travelling from Edinburgh to Boston when a 7700 squawk code was issued. The code indicators an emergency onboard and the flight was shortly diverted to Shannon in Eire.
The airline says the flight was diverted after experiencing a mechanical situation onboard. Photographs from flight tracker web site flightrader24 confirmed the DAL123 airplane do a loop close to Inveraray, earlier than heading in the direction of Eire.

The flight, which was as a consequence of depart Edinburgh Airport at 11.55am, left the Scottish capital at 12.20pm. The airline say they'll work shortly to accommodate and rebook passengers.
