Boy allegedly slashed at Irvine Beach as youth charged over incident

A person has been charged after a youngster was allegedly 'slashed' at a Scots seaside through the heatwave.

Medics rushed to Irvine Seashore in Ayrshire at 6.25pm on Monday, July 18. On arrival, they discovered a 16-year-old male with critical accidents.

The boy was rushed to hospital for remedy. Officers from Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in reference to the incident.

He is because of seem at Kilmarnock Sheriff Courtroom on Friday, July 22.

Detective Inspector Stephen McCulloch, from Saltcoats CID, mentioned: "Officers will proceed to patrol seashores throughout Ayrshire, as a part of the Safer Shores initiative. I want to thank the general public for his or her help with this investigation."
