Armed police swoop on Scots street amid reports of 'firearm being discharged'

Armed police raced to a quiet avenue amid studies a firearm had probably been discharged.

Emergency crews swooped on the Mayfield Crescent space of Leslie, Fife, at round 12pm on Sunday, July 3. Pictures present a variety of police autos parked near the scene, with armed officers within the space.

Police Scotland confirmed that though emergency companies attended, no-one was injured. They added that enquiries to determine the complete nature of the incident stay ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “Officers acquired a report of a doable firearm being discharged within the Maryfield Crescent space of Leslie round 12pm on Sunday, 3 July, 2022.

“Emergency companies attended and no-one was injured.

“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the complete circumstances.”
