Armed police race to 'disturbance' on residential Edinburgh street as man arrested

Armed police swooped on an alleged disturbance on a resident Edinburgh stree final night time.

Officers raced to Granton Place within the Trinity space of Edinburgh at round 7.50pm on Friday, July 1, Edinburgh Reside experiences.

The drive confirmed that a 54-year-old man was arrested in reference to the alleged incident and that enquiries stay ongoing.

Residents took to social media to say that officers had knowledgeable them to remain inside their residence while they handled the alleged disturbance.

Armed officers, three police vehicles and a number of other different autos had been seen within the space near the Boswall Mortgage finish of Granton Place.

One resident, who needs to stay nameless, mentioned: “Armed police have blocked off the Boswall Mortgage finish of Granton Place and are telling individuals to return inside their homes.

“Seems like they’ve been there for over an hour - there are three police vehicles and some vans.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “Round 7.50pm on Friday, 1 July, officers had been known as to a report of a disturbance inside a property on Granton Place in Edinburgh.

“Officers attended and a 54-year-old man was arrested in reference to the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”
