David Flucker takes two buses after which walks 20 minutes to get to work at a charity store – a journey of two hours every approach.
Which is much more outstanding given he celebrated his one centesimal birthday on Wednesday.
The grandad-of-seven clocked in as common at St Columba’s Hospice store in Edinburgh the subsequent day, and says: “It's a fantastic feeling to be doing one thing.”
Widowed in 2010, David began on the store after he was identified with prostate most cancers and spent two weeks on the hospice.
"He stated: “It's two buses and a 20-minute stroll to the store, not less than two hours.
“I work three days per week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
“We get plenty of donations, I verify the garments... we get plenty of toys, books, jigsaw puzzles. We now have bought to verify all of them.”
David, who stays within the suburb of Balgreen, additionally builds mannequin railways to public sale for the hospice.
He labored as a printer till he was 72.
For his one centesimal, he had a ship tour of the Firth of Forth and he added: “I had a marvellous birthday cake coated in
raspberries.
“There is likely to be extra, I’ll be placing on weight!”
