Bellshill Cultural Centre will host an exhibition to mark the 30-year anniversary of the closure of Ravenscraig Steelworks.
Opening this Saturday, June 25, The Craig and Past options work by Roger McNulty that are involved primarily with steelmaking, its dramatic processes and the transient and world nature of its manufacturing.
Roger mentioned: “Having lived within the shadow of the Craig and its dramatic results on the verge of the fertile Clyde Valley, offers a relentless supply of vivid reminiscences for my work.”

The closure of Ravenscraig in 1992 signalled the top of large-scale metal making in Scotland.
It led to a direct lack of 770 jobs, and one other 10,000 jobs linked to those.
Demolition of the location’s landmark blue gasometer in 1996 and the next clean-up operation have created the biggest brownfield web site in Europe.
