'Man with axe' in Scots housing estate sparks major police response

A avenue in Fife was locked down after experiences of a 'man with an axe' in a Kirkcaldy housing property.

Police descended on Hyperlinks Avenue on Thursday morning after the alarm was raised by involved members of the general public.

Pictures taken on the scene present 5 police automobiles and vans in attendance.

The realm was cordoned off whereas enquiries had been carried out.

Residents claimed to have seen a person 'operating about with an axe' and warned locals to be vigilant.

One native stated: "Police all around the Hyperlinks as there’s a person operating about with an axe.

"Be vigilant if you happen to're out and about".

One other stated: "Three guys with axes operating about. They bought two of them however one nonetheless lacking.

A 3rd added: "Was advised a man was going round with an axe."

Police have now launched a probe into the incident and are urging anybody with any data to return ahead.
