Edinburgh OAP charged with alleged sexual assault of teen boy in Meadows appears in court

A pensioner accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in a well-liked Scots park has appeared in court docket.

Police had been referred to as after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly attacked within the public bathrooms of The Meadows within the capital on Good Friday, April 15.

James Tait, 88, of Edinburgh, made no plea when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court docket on Wednesday, June 1, in non-public.

He's charged with crimes below the sexual offences act.

The case was dedicated for additional examination.

Tait was launched on bail and his subsequent look in court docket is to be confirmed.
