The commerce union Unite says it's initiating strike ballots in all Scotland's 32 councils in a dispute over pay.
The union says the present supply of a 2 per cent pay improve is "pathetic" in gentle of the present value of dwelling.
Unite says its poll will open on June 10 and shut on July 26, masking colleges and cleaning departments.
If members vote for a strike, it might start in August initially of the subsequent college time period.

Wendy Dunsmore, Unite industrial officer mentioned: "Unite has served discover to all 32 native authorities that we are going to now poll our members from 10 June.
"There was some acknowledgement by Cosla (Conference of Scottish Native Authorities) that the two per cent supply is nowhere close to ok and native authorities staff deserve a big improve.
"Nevertheless, we now want motion not phrases and extra letters, or strike motion is on the horizon."
