'Significant concerns' for man who vanished from Scots town sparking police probe

Police are involved for the wellbeing of a person who vanished from East Renfrewshire.

Andrew Irvine was final seen in Barrhead's Predominant Road at round 8.10am on Friday.

Officers say the 48-year-old's disappearance is 'very out of character'.

Andrew is described as being 5 foot, ten inches tall and of slim construct, with brief, gray and white hair and a beard.

When final seen he was sporting a black jacket and blues denims and carrying a black rucksack with gray stripes.

Police urge anybody with info to return ahead.

Sergeant Fiona McGuffie stated: “That is very out of character for Andrew and there are important issues for his wellbeing.

“We're asking anybody with info on his whereabouts, or who believes they might have seen him, to contact us as quickly as potential.

“Anybody with any info is requested to contact police on 101, quoting incident 1531 of Friday, Could 27."
