Lorry 'ploughs into tree' on Scots road as driver arrested over 'positive cocaine test'

A person has been arrested after allegedly testing optimistic for cocaine following a crash on a Fife street yesterday.

The alleged smash occurred round 10.30am on the A92 close to the village of Rathillet when an HGV veered off the street and struck a tree.

Photographs taken of the car present the left facet of the windscreen smashed on account of the impression.

Fife Street Policing rushed to the scene and the 67-year-old lorry driver was given a drug check, which allegedly confirmed he had the drug in his system.

The person was then arrested by cops in relation to alleged street site visitors offences.

No different car was concerned within the incident and nobody was severely injured.

Officers say enquiries into the occasion are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman stated: “Round 10.35am on Tuesday, police have been referred to as to a report of a street crash on the A92, Rathillet the place a lorry had come off the street.

“Nobody was injured. Officers attended and the 67-year-old driver allegedly equipped a optimistic medicine wipe.

“He has been arrested in reference to street site visitors offences and enquiries are ongoing.”
