John Hartson has slammed the Rangers hype that Aaron Ramsey gained when he signed - insisting the deal was at all times a chance.
The signing of the Welshman in January was hailed as a blockbuster coup for the Ibrox aspect when he arrived within the Scottish Premiership.
However issues turned bitter for the Juventus loanee having been hampered by harm and lacking the essential penalty within the Europa League remaining.
Ramsey did finish his time in Govan with a Scottish Cup winners medal, however Celtic hero Hartson admits the transfer was a flop.
When requested why the transfer did not work out for Ramsey, he informed The Go Radio Soccer Present: "I wasn't notably shocked.
"He hadn't performed loads of soccer. All people thought, myself included, that he would have a much bigger impression due to his earlier FA Cup remaining objectives at Arsenal and a few of the issues he has achieved for the nationwide group.
"He clearly wasn't prepared when it comes to his health and wasn't in control. When he did play I believed he did OK. He received the objective at Ibrox within the 2-1 defeat (for Celtic).
"He scored a objective at Dundee, had just a little run of video games after which received injured within the Scottish Cup semi-final which stored him out once more.

'I believe it is most likely extra irritating when it is topped off with that penalty miss as properly within the remaining.
"I believe he could have loved his expertise, attending to the ultimate and clearly profitable the Scottish Cup. However total, I must say he by no means actually received going or received any momentum."
He was then requested about a few of the response to Rangers signing in January, together with feedback which noticed Kris Boyd declare Ramsey was the largest signing since Paul Gascoigne.
Hartson went on: "It simply hasn't occurred, and he is no Gascoigne, okay? He is no Gascoigne, at his finest. He is no Laudrup at his finest.
"I am an enormous fan of Aaron Ramsey and he is a implausible participant, however he is not a Paul Gascoigne. Come on.
"It is like signing one other implausible centre-forward and saying he is nearly as good as (Henrik) Larsson. No method. Kyogo would want to remain for the following seven or eight years and rating 250 objectives.
"Folks are likely to hyperlink gamers and day issues for the sake of claiming issues."
