A church minister who's a radio DJ at Scotland’s largest jail has been honoured for her kindness and positivity.
Rev Jill Clancy took over the Barbed Wi-fi radio station at HMP Barlinnie in Glasgow throughout the first lockdown in 2020 as a result of the boys who normally ran it weren't allowed out of their cells due to covid.
Rev Clancy, often called DJ Jolly Jilly, has been given a Meritorious Award from the Scottish Jail Service in recognition of her positivity and the care she supplied to prisoners and employees during the last two years.
The jail chaplain mentioned: “Being recognised for my contribution was a giant shock, I used to be gobsmacked and couldn’t fairly consider it.
"It's a privilege to work at HMP Barlinnie.”
