Firefighters have labored in a single day to sort out an enormous wildfire that's ripping its approach via Kyle of Lochalsh.
Six crews from Skye and the Highlands have been scrambled to the blaze in Western Ross-shire at round 10.20am yesterday.
A day later, 4 hearth engines stay on the scene because the emergency staff proceed to sort out the inferno.
The crews are in attendance from Broadford, Portree and Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye, in addition to Glenelg on the mainland and two volunteer models from Spean Bridge and Cromarty.
Dramatic photographs present the hills lit up final evening as plumes of smoke billowed into the night sky.
The hearth - believed to have damaged out on a big patch of heather - unfold its approach cross-country in a single day.
It's now considered three miles lengthy.
Hose reel jets, beaters and backpack sprayers are among the many emergency equipment getting used to sort out the flames.
In the meantime, a helicopter was authorised for use later this morning.
A Scottish Fireplace and Rescue spokesperson mentioned: "We have been alerted at 10.20am yesterday of a hearth on hill land in Kyle of Lochalsh.
"Six hearth engines have been referred to as to the scene the place they rotated in a single day. 4 home equipment are nonetheless in attendance.
"Firefighters are utilizing hose reel jets, beaters and backpack sprayers.
"A helicopter has been authorised to be used later this morning."
