For all you’ve completed in vanished years,

Sharing our struggles, joys and fears,

Becoming a member of in laughter, toil and tears,

Thanks, Jean!

You proved a staunch and stalwart Deacon,

Serving our needy parish week on

Week: a brightly gleaming beacon.

Thanks, Jean!

I might have a mentioned ‘A guiding star.’

How blessed, how actually blessed they're

Who hear your sweetly tuned guitar!

Thanks, Jean!

You spoke so correctly of our Lord

That stressed bairns have been hardly ever bored.

For which we cry, with one accord,

Thanks, Jean!

For us, it’s time to bless and half.

For you, to make a daring begin.

So from the depths of each coronary heart....

God bless you Jean!
