Police chiefs plan to cease sending criminals to cells and maintain them in “trendy, protected locations” as a substitute.
The Scottish Police Authority (SPA) desires to revamp holding services and alter their picture from being naked and dingy.

The plans have been revealed within the SPA’s annual Police Plan, which says custody areas will change “from locations of detention to trendy, protected locations and gateways for the supply of wellbeing, diversion and transformation providers.”
