Police have launched an investigation after responding to stories of a sexual assault near a Scots pool corridor.
The incident is believed to have occurred round Caskieberran Highway in Glenrothes, close to the junction with Cromarty Courtroom.
It's understood to have taken place between 12.30am and 1.55am, near Styx Glenrothes, and police cordoned off a part of the road.
A big police presence remained till later that day with detectives noticed trying round, in response to native stories.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Officers are finishing up enquiries following the report of a sexual assault that occurred between 12.30am and 1.55am on Saturday, 30 April, within the Caskieberran Highway space of Glenrothes, close to the junction with Cromarty Courtroom.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and anybody who can help with our investigation is requested to contact officers by way of 101, quoting incident quantity 0499 of Saturday, 30 April.”
A spokesperson for Styx Glenrothes stated: “We're conscious that an incident occurred near our venue both final evening or this morning.
“We've not been instructed what the incident was however are aiding the police with their inquiries.
"We're open as regular right now for enterprise.”
