Police have discovered the automobile of a Scots hillwalker 5 days after he was reported lacking within the Highlands.
David Hepburn, from Nairn, has not been in contact along with his household since Sunday, April 24.
The 53-year-old's disappearance has been described as "utterly out of character" as police start their fifth day of the search.
It's believed that the hiker left his dwelling tackle to hold out a stroll close by.
Officers have confirmed that his automobile has been positioned greater than 50 miles from his hometown within the Loch Mullardoch Dam automobile park in Glen Cannich.
His deliberate route is presently unknown, although enquiries thus far counsel he could have meant to finish a stroll on Sgurr Na Lapaich or within the surrounding space.
Inquires are ongoing to determine his plans.
Chief Inspector Jenny Valentine mentioned: “We're rising more and more involved for Derek as he has been out of contact along with his household and pals since final weekend.
“I might urge anybody who believes they might have seen him on or after Sunday 24 April 2022 to get in contact urgently.
“Anybody who may also help is requested to name 101, quoting reference 1812 of 27 April.”
Derek is described as 6ft 1in, of slim construct, with black hair which is balding. He's usually clear shaven or with mild stubble.
It isn't identified what he would have been sporting.
