Eight boys charged after Scots family 'racially abused and assaulted' at beach

Eight boys have charged after a Scots household have been allegedly racially abused and assaulted whereas on a time out on the seaside.

The household have been strolling their canine on Silverknowes Seashore in Edinburgh round 4.30pm on Saturday, March 5 once they have been allegedly attacked.

Through the horrific incident, it's alleged racial slurs have been shouted on the household and a plastic bollard thrown straight at them.

Police have immediately confirmed that eight boys, aged between 12 and 15, have been recognized following an investigation into the incident.

They've been charged in reference to the racial abuse and assaults of two adults.

Inspector Jonny Elliott of Drylaw Police Station stated: “We're dedicated to an instantaneous and sturdy response when confronted with delinquent behaviour.

"We won't tolerate this type of behaviour and officers left no stone unturned to make sure a optimistic consequence.

“I’d prefer to thank the local people for his or her assist throughout this enquiry.”

Hate crime will be reported to police by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.
