Dick Campbell in Manager of the Year confession but Arbroath boss insists he doesn't stand a chance

Smiling Dick Campbell reckons he will not win Supervisor of the Yr as a result of "East coast boys do not win championships."

However the Arbroath boss could not care much less as he will get set to guide the Lichties into the Premiership playoffs.

Campbell's staff have been one of many tales of the season within the Championship as they launched into a fairytale promotion cost.

They led the division for spells and took Kilmarnock the space - solely yielding the title on the penultimate sport of the season by dropping to Derek McInnes' staff.

They bounced again from that with a 3-0 win over Morton in a carnival environment at Gayfield as a 3,000-strong house help celebrated the very best season within the part-timers' historical past.

And it might get even higher but as they're going to tackle both Inverness or Partick Thistle - hoping to arrange a playoff ultimate with a Premiership staff.

Campbell's heroics have earned him a nomination for the PFA Scotland Supervisor of the Yr award - alongside Celtic's Ange Postecoglou, Ross County's Malky Mckay and Cove Rangers' Paul Hartley.

However he reckons he is not received an opportunity as he is seen all of it earlier than.

He informed BBC Scotland's Kenny McIntyre: "I do not give it some thought, I have been quoted earlier than and I have been nominated earlier than.

"East coast boys do not win championships, son.

"I do not know something about it, no-one's informed me something, so I am not sitting right here worrying a few supervisor of the 12 months award."
