A police probe has been launched after a nine-year-old boy was threatened with a knife in a Scots park.
The teen was taking part in in Lanthorn Park, Livingston, on Friday night when he was allegedly 'pushed in opposition to a wall' and threatened with a bladed weapon by a youth.
He fled dwelling in 'a flood of tears' after the terrifying incident round 5.45pm.
Officers attended the world and spoke to a lot of youngsters in relation to the matter.
Enquiries into the incident stay ongoing.
The younger boy's horrified mum posted an enchantment on social media following the assault.
She stated: "Completely furious past phrases... my nine-year-old son has simply ran in the home in a flood of tears. Older teenagers, about 20 of them, threatening my son with knives on the Lanthorn Park!
"Being pushed in opposition to a wall and head butted. Police have been known as.
"All people watch your youngsters.. a park that is for youths that is meant to be protected and this occurs."
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Round 5.45pm on Friday, 22 April, police acquired a report that a nine-year-old boy had been threatened by a youth holding a knife in Lanthorn Park, Livingston.
"He was unhurt. Officers attended the world and spoke to a lot of youths in relation to this matter and enquiries are persevering with into this report.”
