Bomb disposal specialists have been known as to a Scots railway station after a "small" explosive gadget - regarded as a World Battle 2 period grenade - was found close by.
Cops and a specialist explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) crew descended on Greenfaulds practice station in Cumbernauld at round 3.30pm on Wednesday.
Experiences counsel that the gadget, which was present in a grassy space beside the station serving the southern finish of the Lanarkshire city, was an unexploded WW2 bomb.
Police Scotland didn't touch upon the viability of the explosive - however maintains that it posed "no menace" to the area people.
Locals took to social media to touch upon the unlikely scene.
One mentioned: "Absolute s*** myself having a police officer run like Usain Bolt in direction of my automobile telling me to get out the world NOW."
One other added: "By no means seen so many police automobiles outdoors the town."
A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “Police have been known as round 3.30pm on Wednesday, 13 April, following a report of a small ordnance merchandise present in a grassy space close to Greenfaulds Prepare Station in Cumbernauld.
"EOD was contacted and the merchandise was eliminated.
"There was no menace to the group."
