Scots Green ministers accused of fuelling hatred in JK Rowling trans row

Scottish Inexperienced ­Authorities ministers have been slammed for claiming writer JK Rowling is “placing trans lives in danger”.

Inexperienced co-leaders Lorna Slater and Patrick Harvie have been accused of “making this debate extra poisonous and divisive”.

They stated the Harry Potter writer was “not serving to” and intentionally misrepresenting proposed authorized reforms earlier than Holyrood.

Rowling opposes the Gender Recognition Invoice that's backed by the Greens which might simplify the method for altering an individual’s legally ­recognised gender.

Scottish Conservative spokeswoman on gender reform, Meghan Gallacher, stated: “These over-the-top ­accusations from SNP-Inexperienced Authorities ministers are making this debate extra poisonous and divisive than it needs to be.”

Social Justice ­Secretary Shona Robison insists the plans won't change ladies’s rights.

A Scottish Greens spokesperson stated the invoice “outlines easy proposals that may assist trans individuals do issues like marry, pay their taxes or get their pension in ways in which recognise who they're”.
