Scots benefits cheat who 'hid family inheritance' hit with deadline to pay it back

A 46-year-old lady who conned the advantages company out of 1000's by hiding a household inheritance has been given time to pay the cash again.

Thandilyn MacMaster was informed on Tuesday that she had till July this 12 months to pay again no less than half of the £5,846 she obtained fraudulently.

Sentence was deferred for 4 months for good behaviour at Dundee Sheriff Court docket and for MacMaster to proceed making repayments to the advantages company.

The court docket beforehand heard how she cheated the advantages company out of almost £6,000 after failing to declare she had inherited cash from her late mom.

MacMaster, from Strathmiglo, admitted finishing up the social safety fraud by failing to alert the company to her change in monetary circumstances.
