Hibs investigate stormy Scottish Cup win at Motherwell marred by smashed seats and steward injury

Hibs have launched an investigation after their followers smashed up seats at Fir Park and a steward was left with a head damage.

Shaun Maloney's facet beat Motherwell 2-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, with Elias Melkersen putting twice.

Steelmen boss Graham Alexander was left fuming after Bevis Mugabi was proven a pink card for a problem inside the primary minute, along with his facet taking part in nearly the whole recreation with 10 males.

Followers within the away finish smashed seats and threw a flare onto the pitch, with footage exhibiting the Fir Park injury.

Hibs mentioned in an announcement: "We're conscious of the incidents within the away finish at Fir Park and can work intently with Motherwell FC in an try and establish supporters that have been concerned.

“If any supporter will be positively recognized, then the membership will take applicable motion.”

It is believed round 3,500 followers made the journey from Leith for Sunday's recreation.
