The heartbroken buddies of a tragic Scot who died in Loch Doon 'battled to avoid wasting his life for over an hour'.

Scott Ferries, 24, died after a kayak carrying him and a pal capsized within the water close to Dalmellington, East Ayrshire on Sunday.

Emergency providers raced to the wonder spot after receiving experiences of two males in issue within the water.

Scott, from Ayr, died on the scene, whereas the second man was checked over by paramedics however didn't require additional medical remedy.

Scott was the youngest of 5 youngsters, with three older brothers James Junior, Kyle and John and an older sister, Angela.

A fundraising web page has now been set as much as assist the household cowl the funeral prices for the younger man described as "one in one million."

It reads: "We're seeking to elevate funds for the household to assist with the funeral prices of Scott Ferries after his tragic and sudden demise following a Kayaking accident at Loch Doon on the twenty seventh of March 2022.

The 24-year-old had labored as a mechanic along with his father, James, on the Somerset Storage in his hometown.

His dad advised how his “fantastic son,” lived for his household, mates and canine Roxy and liked spending time outdoor.

Devastated family members paid their respects to common Scott on social media.

One relative commented: "Love you bro, until we meet once more. Now you are larger than you can ever be down right here."

One other individual wrote: "Relaxation in paradise you wonderful laddie! You had been liked by everybody!

"Get the drifts going bud and preserve us all secure we love you bro."

Another person added: “Rip Scott Ferries! A terrific mechanic and an awesome individual. Completely devastated for you and your loved ones.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned on the time: "Officers acquired experiences of two males in issue within the water at Loch Doon, Dalmellington, round 1.15pm on Sunday, March 27.

"One man died on the scene. The opposite man was checked over by paramedics however didn't require additional medical remedy.

"A report will likely be submitted to the procurator fiscal however there don't seem like any suspicious circumstances."
