Girl, 11, rushed to hospital following stabbing near school as student arrested

An 11-year-old lady was rushed to hospital after she was stabbed close to her faculty by a fellow scholar.

The sufferer was attacked on Monday morning on Chapel Lane close to the Co-op Academy in Blackley.

She sustained a 'small laceration to the highest of her shoulder' and has since been discharged by medics, police say.

A 12-year-old lady has been arrested on suspicion of assault following the stunning incident, Manchester Night Information studies.

A Higher Manchester Police spokesperson stated: "At round 8.30am this morning, police have been referred to as to a report of a stabbing on Chapel Lane, Blackley.

"Officers attended and positioned an 11-year-old lady with a small laceration to the highest of her shoulder. She was taken to hospital as a precaution and has since been discharged. A 12-year-old has since been arrested on suspicion of assault. Enquiries are on-going."

The pressure later confirmed that the 12 year-old arrested was a lady.

A police van was pictured exterior the college on Plant Hill Highway on Monday morning.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson stated: "We now have attended a police incident on the faculty following a name at 8.22am and have taken a feminine affected person to hospital."

A spokesperson for the Co-op Academy stated: "We are able to affirm an incident occurred off-site immediately earlier than faculty this morning. All concerned are being taken care of and supported. As that is the topic of an on-going police investigation it could be inappropriate to remark additional."

A message despatched to folks by the college stated the incident had been 'handled shortly and appropriately'.

It added: "We admire the priority from mother and father and carers and we've got communicated as quickly as we will after guaranteeing the protection of all college students."
