Dramatic photographs present a wildfire engulf the Scottish Highlands throughout the hottest day of the 12 months.
Firefighters raced to the scene at Beannachd Highway within the Dornoch space of Sutherland at round 3.18pm on Saturday, March 19.
The Scottish Fireplace and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched six home equipment with two hose reel jets, pewters and knapsacks to the scene.
Crews from Dornoch, Tain, Invergordon Golspie, Lairg, Helmsdale and Cromarty labored for hours to extinguish the blaze.
The fireplace was put out simply after 6pm.
Invergordon Fireplace Station praised all of the firefighters, tweeting : "Good effort to extinguish earlier than darkness fell."

An SFRS spokesperson stated: “We had been known as to reviews of a wildfire at Beannachd Highway, Dornoch at 15.18 on Saturday, March 19.
“Six home equipment had been in attendance together with two hose reel jets, pewters and knapsacks.
“We got a cease at 18.17."
