A person has died after plunging from a mountain within the Highlands earlier this week.
The 54-year-old fell from the ridge of An Teallach close to Dundonnell in Wester Ross on Tuesday, March 1.
Officers from Police Scotland, coastguard and mountain rescue groups have been referred to as to the realm, also known as the 'nice wilderness' at round 2.45pm.
Sadly, the person was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
There aren't any suspicious circumstances surrounding the loss of life.
No different accidents have been reported.
A report will likely be despatched to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police Scotland confirmed the tragic incident to the Day by day File on Wednesday afternoon.
Sergeant Kay Macrae informed the File: "At round 2.45pm on Tuesday, March 1 officers obtained stories of an injured hillwalker on An Teallach close to Dundonnell in Wester Ross.
"Emergency providers attended and a 54-year-old man was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
"There aren't any suspicious circumstances surrounding the loss of life and a full report will likely be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Staff confirmed that the person handed away after falling from the primary ridge of the mountain.
A Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Staff chief informed STV information : “Two of our workforce members assisted HM Coastguard helicopter in evacuating the deceased individual from An Teallach.
“The gentleman involved had died after a fall from the primary ridge of the mountain.”
HM Coastguard burdened the incident was 'police-led' however confirmed they have been referred to as to help and despatched one helicopter from Inverness.
A spokeswoman informed the File: "HM Coastguard was requested to help Police Scotland with an incident at Sgurr Fiona, An Teallach yesterday.
"The coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Inverness was despatched."
