Two men arrested at COVID-19 protest that attracted 400 to downtown Fredericton

FREDERICTON - Two males are dealing with legal prices after a protest in opposition to COVID-19 restrictions turned ugly exterior Fredericton Metropolis Corridor.

The Saturday rally attracted 400 individuals despite the fact that the Fredericton Police Pressure had urged organizers to not go forward with the occasion.

Police Chief Roger Brown issued an announcement saying the protest was peaceable, apart from a small group of people that tried to incite violence.

Brown says the 2 males who had been arrested are dealing with a number of prices, along with fines for failing to adjust to the province’s Emergency Measures Act.

Police say a number of different tickets had been issued to organizers and members, and extra tickets will likely be handed to these recognized on the rally.

Brown says those that ignore well being safety measures are placing public security in danger.
