A store proprietor discovered to be promoting counterfeit vodka deemed 'unfit for human consumption' has been fined.
An investigation was opened into Southport retailer Smackus again in 2019, after Sefton Council suspected the enterprise to be promoting faux alcohol, the Liverpool Echo studies.
The drink was being bottled and labelled as Glen's vodka, with the council liaising with the store on tips on how to determine counterfeit bottles, discovered on sale in a number of areas.
District Decide Boswell discovered defendant Mr Wojtek Lazarz responsible of two expenses, and the corporate, Smakus Meals Restricted, responsible of 1 at Sefton Magistrates Courtroom on Wednesday.
Mr Lazarz was fined £1,450 and Smakus Meals Restricted, £1,050, whereas Sefton Council acquired £1,000 in the direction of its prices.
