Nova Scotia RCMP investigate shots fired at fishing boat last month

MARTINIQUE, N.S. - Police in Nova Scotia are asking the general public for info as they proceed to research a report of photographs fired at a fishing boat close to Martinique on Cape Breton Island.

The RCMP says they acquired a grievance of the incident on Dec. 8 and realized the vessel was close to Lennox Passage Provincial Park on the time of the taking pictures.

They are saying 4 photographs have been fired from land towards the boat, touchdown within the water simply off the vessel’s bow.

Cpl. Chris Marshall says the RCMP didn't publicize the taking pictures earlier as a result of they consider it was an remoted incident and there was no risk to most people.

No accidents have been reported because of the taking pictures.

The RCMP is asking anybody with details about the taking pictures to contact police or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
