Man charged with breaking into downtown business

Police have charged a Fort McMurray man with breaking right into a enterprise in downtown Fort McMurray.

Wooden Buffalo RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Lacey Blair mentioned there have been 20 break-ins reported in Fort McMurray through the previous 35 days. She couldn't touch upon whether or not the break-ins are related.

Blair mentioned a safety alarm despatched officers to Co-operators-Stephen Home Company Inc. on Franklin Avenue on Saturday round 1:04 a.m. Police discovered the entrance window of the enterprise had been smashed. A police canine was used to trace a suspect to a house close to the enterprise.

Steven Linthorne, 49, has been charged with break-and-enter and theft underneath $5,000. Linthorne was launched from custody and is scheduled to seem in Fort McMurray Provincial Courtroom on Feb. 9.
