QMJHL postpones return to play to Feb. 1 due to COVID-19 challenges

MONTREAL - The Quebec Main Junior Hockey League has pushed bask its return to play to Feb. 1 attributable to ongoing challenges across the COVID-19 pandemic.

The league had initially deliberate to restart on Monday.

The QMJHL mentioned in a press release that the change to the restart was made as a result of there isn't a clear timeline of easing COVID-19 restrictions.

Many of the league’s groups function out of Quebec, the place leisure venues stay closed and a ten p.m. to five a.m. curfew is in drive. The curfew is anticipated too be lifted Monday.

The league mentioned it's nonetheless engaged on rescheduling all postponed video games as a way to full a full 68-game schedule.

The league has been on hiatus since Dec. 18.
