Hockey Canada names Kleinburg's Stacey, Keswick's Ambrose to women's Olympic squad

Canada’s roster for ladies’s hockey on the Beijing Olympics will embody two names acquainted to followers in York Area.

Ahead Laura Stacey and defenceman Erin Ambrose are included on the 23-player roster which was introduced Jan. 11 by Hockey Canada.

For Stacey, from Kleinburg, it will likely be her second Olympic Video games after serving to Canada to a silver medal in 2018 in Pyeongchang. She is one in all 13 returnees from that squad.

Ambrose, a Keswick native who now lives in Orillia, can be making her Olympics debut.

Each ladies are 27 years previous and veterans of the nationwide program.

Stacey and Ambrose had been members of Canada’s gold-medal profitable group on the IIHF world championships in 2021.

Additionally they competed for Canada at world championships in 2017 (silver) and 2019 (bronze).
