Michael Strahan Has Brutally Honest Admission On Giants

Michael Strahan speaking to the media.

Michael Strahan is one of the best players in New York Giants franchise history.

The superstar pass rusher spent his entire career with the Giants, playing in New York from 1993-2007. He was a six-time All-Pro and a two-time NFL sacks leader.

On Sunday, the Giants will retire Strahan’s No. 92 jersey.

For Strahan, it’s a great honor, but it’s also one that he expected a bit sooner.

“I’ll be honest with you, I would have honestly expected it a long time ago. I’ve been in the NFL Hall of Fame for seven years now. All of the things that I did with the Giants, I would have expected it a little bit sooner, but it’s still an honor. Things come in the time in which they’re meant to come and not at the time in which you want them to come sometimes. That’s the way I’m looking at it. I don’t want it to look as if I’m ungrateful or I’m not honored by it, because I truly am. I probably would’ve expected it to come a little bit sooner than it did, yes,” Strahan said.

That’s a fair admission, to be sure.

New York and Philadelphia are set to kick off at 1 p.m. E.T.
