Lincoln Riley can’t seem to stay out of the coaching rumor mill.
He denied his interest in the LSU job on Saturday night, but he’s now being connected to the USC opening.
Per Bruce Feldman of The Athletic and FOX, he wouldn’t be surprised if USC tried reaching out to Riley to try and pry him away from Oklahoma.
Would not be surprised if USC took a big swing to try and pry Lincoln Riley away from OU now.

This has the college football world talking up a storm as some people don’t think he would have an interest in the school after denying LSU the night before.
Why would he want to go to USC? https://t.co/IJkWniTjBJ

If he turned down $13 million per year from LSU, he’s not going to USC for any amount of money https://t.co/EzrxIFMdBC

Nobody’s asking me, but he’d be out of his mind to make that move. https://t.co/DHrNxNZl8r

So LSU and USC, three months after firing their coaches, are still in brainstorming mode? https://t.co/AOS4bg2Gs2

Multiple coaches have said to me that Oklahoma becomes a much harder job in the SEC and they thought Riley would be wise to look elsewhere, whether that was LSU or USC. https://t.co/ImEtRQ4HMd

We’re three months into this coaching search and USC is still leaking big name swings for the fences?
That’s a *BAD* sign. https://t.co/Nwm5K4Ypzt

Kliff Kingsbury endorses this path as a great way to get into the NFL https://t.co/33fFffnegP

Riley finished 10-2 this season as the Sooners head coach after they lost to Oklahoma State on Saturday night, 37-33.
They were in contention to be a dark horse for the College Football Playoff going into that contest but now, they virtually have no shot with a lot of better teams in front of them.
Riley has been with Oklahoma since 2017 and has amassed one of the best records as a coach since then. He’s 55-10 overall and has won 9+ games each season.
He’s also taken the Sooners to the CFP in three of his five seasons at the helm since he took over.
We’ll have to see how he comments on this latest rumor when he speaks to the media.
