Interim head coach Bob Stoops shared what makes the Oklahoma football program special on Tuesday. Talking to OU players, Stoops let them know that they are the driving force of the Sooners success.
Stoops: "You’re OU football. He isn’t. I’m not. Any other coach who comes here isn’t. OU football has been here a long time, and it isn’t going anywhere else. It’s going to be here, and it’s going to be atop of college football, and it’s going to continue that way." #Sooners https://t.co/zc1LhKivze

“You’re OU football. [Lincoln Riley] isn’t. I’m not,” Stoops explained. “Any other coach who comes here isn’t.”

Once Lincoln Riley hopped on a plane for Hollywood, Bob Stoops was asked to step in and coach the Sooners’ bowl game.
The 61-year-old coach served as Oklahoma’s head football coach from 1999-2016. Over that span of 18 seasons, Stoops posted a 190-48 record with 10 Big-12 titles and one national championship.

Stoops paved the way for Riley to take the reins at OU, after Riley acted as the Sooners offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2015-2016.
Now Oklahoma’s legendary former coach will try to capture another bowl game victory for the university.
