Motorists are being warned that stretches of the A71 in Ayrshire can be closed this weekend.
A programme of works described as important is being carried out this Saturday and Sunday between the Corsehill roundabout on the North Ayrshire boundary and busy Bellfield Interchange.
Highway upkeep together with grass slicing is on the agenda as Ayrshire Roads Alliance (ARA) workers get to work.
Nevertheless, the challenge does imply daytime closures of stretches of the A71 can be required.
On Saturday, each carriageways from Corsehill roundabout to Moorfield roundabout and vice versa can be out of motion from 5am to 6pm.
Diversions can be in place through the villages of Springside and Crosshouse on the B7081.
In the meantime, on Sunday, the route can be closed from Moorfield roundabout to the Bellfield interchange and vice versa between 5am and 6pm once more. Diversions may also be in place.
The ARA say emergency entry can be maintained through the highway closures and thru the works web site.
