Three arrested after shop robbed at knifepoint in east Belfast

The PSNI is interesting for info following a theft at business premises in east Belfast on Sunday night.

The incident occurred at premises on the Castlereagh Highway by which a workers member was ordered to open tills within the store in addition to the secure by two males sporting face-coverings, blue gloves and carrying a knife.

The 2 males then made off with money and cigarettes in a grey-coloured Audi Q2 S line the place it’s then believed they switched automobiles to a blue-coloured Citroen C3 within the Grove Avenue East space.

A police spokesperson stated it’s believed the theft is linked to a earlier incident in Rosetta Highway space of the town, throughout which it was reported that a grey-coloured Audi was seen performing suspiciously exterior business premises.

Police have stated the latter automobile was subsequently stopped by police within the Miltown Highway space. Three individuals, a lady in her 30s, and two males aged of their 30s and 40s had been arrested on suspicion of various offences together with theft and possession of an offensive weapon.

In a press release, the PSNI stated that the suspects stay in custody and “enquiries are persevering with.”

A police spokesperson stated "Anybody who could have any info which might help us is requested to name 101, and quote reference quantity 1884 04/09/22.
