Motherwell boss Stevie Hammell admits defender Jake Carroll won't play once more this season.
The Irish left-back missed the 2-1 defeat at house to St Johnstone final Saturday, having damaged down in coaching on the Friday night time.
And Hammell has revealed that the 31-year-old has ruptured a patellar tendon in his knee, which noticed Carroll on crutches final weekend.
Hammell stated: "Jake has a ruptured patellar tendon, so it is fairly critical.
"Jake's a terrific boy, a very good participant, and it is one we ear-marked for enchancment.
"Jake wasn't taking part in at his full capability, I consider that, and I feel we noticed that within the quick time period we watched him within the sport and in coaching, we felt there was a variety of enchancment in him.
"So he'll be an enormous loss for us, I am completely gutted for the boy.
"He'll be fortunate to play this season I feel."
